Mitsubishi Outlander and Lancer Evo in rescue modification for Pikes Peak

This summer, another year of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is taking place in the USA, where a large number of sports-tuned cars will appear. Among them is the 800-horsepower Peugeot 208 T16 . However, high speed brings a huge risk, which is why a high-quality rescue service must be present. This was taken advantage of by the Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi, which prepared two special vehicles for the occasion . These are Outlander and Lancer Evo X models. Both cars were modified accordingly and received effective body stickers.

The Mitsubishi Outlander will become the official safety vehicle. The vehicle has a sophisticated S-AWC all-wheel drive system, which will provide it with stability and perfect control in the challenging switchbacks on Pikes Peak. The second car is the Lancer Evo X sports sedan, which will serve as an auxiliary safety vehicle.

Like the Outlander, the Lancer Evo X is equipped with beacons and a distinctive red and white color scheme. Both cars received modifications from AEM, BBS USA, Cobb Tuning, DC Sports, Kenwood USA Corporation and Muellerized Suspension Tuning. These firms have ensured that both vehicles are equipped with more powerful braking systems, LED beacons or modified chassis settings.

Let's hope, however, that we will see both rescue vehicles only as an addition to the traditional race and there will be no need for their active deployment.
