Skoda at the Oldtimer Bohemia Rally 2013

The fourth edition of the Oldtimer Bohemia Rally takes place from May 23 to 25, 2013. The starting shot for a total of 64 participating cars and motorcycles will traditionally be fired in Mladá Boleslav, the headquarters of the Skoda company. Saturday's destination will be Loučeň Castle for the first time. Another top event – Concours d'Elegance – a competition of automotive elegance, is held there as part of the event, in which a total of 71 selected veterans from the 1920s and 1930s take part.

Six classic cars from the collections of the Skoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav will line up for the start of a three-day drive through the beautiful Czech countryside. One car – a luxury Skoda 645 limousine from the 1930s – will take part in the final Concours d'Elegance at Loučeň Castle.

The 1923 Laurin & Klement 300 will be a feast for the eyes and ears of spectators. Internally dubbed the "Makina," the car is powered by a liquid-cooled 4.7-liter, 50-horsepower inline-four. The ocher-colored car impresses with its high, open bodywork. In addition to its appearance, it also impresses with its rich sound. The engine drives the car's rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with reverse. The maximum speed is around 100 km/h, the normal cruising speed is 60 km/h.

The Skoda Sagitta from 1936 is also an extraordinary model. The sleek little car, of which only seven were built, is powered by an air-cooled, 844 cc, 15 hp (11 kW) two-cylinder, four-stroke engine. Sagita weighs 580 kg and reaches a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The car, which will enter the start of the rally, underwent a demanding renovation in the restoration workshop in Mladá Boleslav.

Two examples of the Skoda Tudor cabriolet will also be on display. Both cars date from 1948 and regularly participate in vintage drives. The Tudor is powered by a 1089cc four-cylinder engine with 32 horsepower. The maximum speed is 100 km/h. The model was produced between 1946 and 1952, a total of over 80,000 units were produced.

Skoda Felicia represents the elegance of the sixties. The 1961 car is a true tribute to the 'Sweet Sixties' with its turquoise blue paintwork. Under the hood is a four-cylinder engine with a volume of 1089 cm3, producing 50 horsepower. The convertible reaches a maximum speed of 130 km/h.

The Skoda 1000 MB Rallye car from 1967 is an exclusive representative of the brand's successful sporting history. The car, which starts at the Oldtimer Bohemia Rally, took part in many races, including the London-Mexico long-distance drive in 1995. Sport-tuned four-cylinder engine with a volume of 1300 cm 3 with a Weber carburetor produced 90 horsepower. The maximum speed was between 160 and 170 km/h.

The highlight of the Oldtimer Bohemia Rally is the "Concours d'Elegance" at Loučeň Castle . This competition of automotive elegance focuses on the exceptionally stylish cars of the 1920s and 1930s. A total of 71 cars will be presented to the jury. Skoda will present a jewel from the museum's collections: a Skoda 645 car from 1932 with a special modification for the family. In total, 758 cars were produced from 1929 until the mid-1930s. The drive is provided by a six-cylinder engine with a volume of 2492 cm3, producing 45 horsepower.
