Hyundai modified the i20 WRC

Hyundai has taken another significant step towards future participation in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC ) by unveiling the latest specification of the i20 WRC competition car at the Geneva Motor Show.

Hyundai is hard at work preparing for its first season in the demanding 2014 FIA WRC World Rally Championship . The remaining part of this year will be marked by testing and development of the i20 WRC specification competition car .

The latest version includes significant changes to the exterior body shapes and chassis construction . The improvements are the result of a collaboration between Hyundai's research and development center in Namyang, Korea, and the newly established Hyundai Motorsport GmbH , based in Alzenau, Germany, headed by Michel Nandan.

The new specification of the Hyundai i20 WRC competition car already impresses with its appearance. The redesigned design combines Hyundai's dynamic blue hue with the innovative application of characters from the Korean Hunminjeongeum script. The stylistic design harmoniously combines the dynamics of the WRC series with the Korean origins of the Hyundai brand.

Team principal Michel Nandan is focusing on building a solid core for the Hyundai WRC team two months after his appointment. The new factory team is growing with key specialists in the fields of technology, logistics and motorsport. The team will soon embark on a more intensive test program with the i20 WRC car, which will accelerate the car's development for its first hot season.
