SRT released a press statement a few days ago stating that they will release two SRT Viper GTS-R racing specials on world circuits this year . The cars will try to drown out the strong competition mainly in the famous 24h Le Mans race .
Two SRT Viper GTS-Rs will compete in the LM GTE class, where they will attempt to repeat the remarkable string of victories that occurred in 1990 and also with the improved generation of the car in 1998. At that time, the Dodge Viper GTS-R placed first and second place in this class.
The new SRT Viper GTS-R is developed together with Riley Technologies . The car has an aerodynamic body kit with new bumpers, a wide air intake and an adjustable rear wing. It weighs around 1245 kg and produces power in the range of 450-500 hp (336-373 kW). Its top speed is 290 km/h.
