What's new at ATS?

The Italian car manufacturer ATS , which became famous in the 1960s as a manufacturer of sports cars, is preparing to make a comeback and with it several new products. The company was founded in 1963 by former Ferrari employees, but only existed for two years. During that time, the automaker debuted the ATS 2500 GT sports model.

Now ATS is planning to return to the sports car manufacturers with two models. The first of these is the ATS Sport , a two-seater road car also designed for circuit driving. The engines will be a choice of Extreme Engines Hayabusa units or GM 's 1.6 Turbo engine, which, depending on the tuning, will provide between 185 and 300 horsepower. The weight of the car should be 470 kg. And the price of the car? About 1,500,000 CZK .

The second novelty will be the ATS Leggera , again powered by a GM1.6 turbo engine . The engine power varies between 210 and 300 horses, the weight will be 650 kg. The price of this car will be in the range of 1,500,000 – 2,000,000 CZK. The frame of both cars will be made of stainless steel, the body of epoxy resin.

The latest thing that the ATS car company is planning is the resurrection of the De Tomaso name during the next year. ATS has owned the rights to the name since last November, at which time there was also speculation that the company would use the original 2500 GT model as the basis for the new Pantera .
