Twelve years of production and successful sales until the very end is a respectable result that is not achieved by just anyone. It is all the more difficult to follow up on such success , however, the second generation Volvo XC90 has the best prerequisites for this.
Without wanting to offend anyone, most car manufacturers should learn from Volvo what a majestic and at the same time very elegant body looks like. The XC90 exudes a kind of natural respectability and I have no doubt that it will be a real gem on the road. Starting with the main headlights with the so-called Thor's hammer , i.e. LED diodes in the shape of the letter T, through the chrome and really large radiator grille to the rear very interestingly shaped vertical headlights. Just like its predecessor, the new XC90 is a car with character. From the impressions I got at the Volvo stand, which, by the way, like the XC90 was tuned to a truly luxurious note , I would definitely choose one of the lighter colors.
After sitting behind the wheel, you will feel more like you are in a luxurious living room than in a car. After you lie down in the luxurious leather chairs, practically only two displays are spread out in front of you – one representing the alarm clocks, the other the multimedia system , through which almost all the functions of the car are controlled and it responds very quickly to your commands. An equally interesting detail is the eight-speed automatic transmission selector with genuine Orrefors crystal . I must admit that having a crystal in my hand for the first time and still in the car was a truly extraordinary experience. In addition to crystal, a number of other noble materials such as wood , the already mentioned leather, aluminum or chrome were used to produce the interior. Hand in hand with high-quality materials goes the absolutely extraordinary appearance of the cabin. The luxury does not end even after moving to the second row of seats , which is again upholstered in leather and, like the front, resembles the most luxurious living room. Passengers also have their own ventilation outlets. The third row is clearly an emergency, and I probably wouldn't force a more mature person to drive routes longer than city ones on it. The positive thing is that even with all three rows, there will be a lot of space in the luggage compartment . It's not for moving, but you can transport a few bags in it.
If I'm being honest, I've probably never sat in anything more luxurious than a Volvo XC90 in my life. I've tried the BMW 7 Series, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (which has excellent seats, by the way) and the Audi A8, but the XC90 simply beats them. Maybe it's not the luxury itself, but its combination with style and a great looking center console. Volvo dealers are accepting orders now, the base price for the D4 AWD model has been set at 1,329,000 crowns .
