VW Beetle R ready for Los Angeles

The long-awaited Los Angeles Auto Show is in full swing starting today, so let's take a look at what we can expect on the American show floors.

For today, we will start with the model of a concern that has its fingers in almost everything in the world. Yes, the VW Beetle R concept was already presented at this year's IAA, but series production was confirmed in California by the head of the automaker for North America! The Volkswagen Beetle R will soon join its brothers the Golf R and Scirocco R, with which it will form an uncompromising and strong trio in the category of sharp models.

The sharp Beetle has to follow the example of its siblings and show off properly. Thanks to this, the serial form will be equipped with a new front and rear bumper, which widen the car by a full 30 millimeters. Other recognizable elements of the exterior will be large 20" wheels, a rear diffuser, four exhaust tips and a rear pressure wing, located under the rear window. In connection with the disks, however, there are conjectures about their size. The duo of siblings is equipped with "only" 18".

The interior cannot be avoided either. Here we can look forward to high-quality upholstery in a combination of Nappa and Nubuck leather, a sporty three-spoke steering wheel, aluminum pedals and black lacquered dashboard and interior door panels.

The technology that will appear under the hood has already been confirmed. This will be identical to the Golf R model, so we can prepare for a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder engine with a power of 199 kW and a torque of 350 Nm.
