Volvo XC90 – a new generation already in 2014!

The Volvo XC90 has been offered by the Swedish automaker since 2002 and is still being sold. Of course, it also went through traditional modernizations, apparently the last one awaits it next year. But even so, everything has its place on the market and will be for a while. The Scandinavian brand confirmed that the new generation SUV will not arrive until 2014.

The new XC90 will be built on a completely new SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform, which certainly promises lower weight and fuel savings. It will also offer an evolutionary design, which should be based on previously revealed sketches of the automaker itself. The XC90 for 2014 will probably have new VEA four-cylinder engines under the hood, which will be more powerful, more economical and lighter than the current six-cylinders.

The brand's vice president, Peter Mertens , stated: "The new architecture covers about 2/3 of our total sales. With about 40% shared parts between all cars regardless of size, we will prosper economically, which will drive our competitiveness. He also said that the savings will allow the automaker to focus on the individual details that are important to our customers".
