Volvo is preparing a facelift for the S60 and S80, the new XC90 will arrive in 2014

The Swedish brand Volvo unveiled its two new models at the current Paris Motor Show – the V40 Cross Country and the V40 R-Design . In addition to the models themselves, she also stated at the press conference what we could expect as news in the future. Volvo 's director of marketing and sales, Doug Speck , stated: "Our automaker is primarily planning upgrades for the two large sedans".

By this he was referring to the S60 , which was introduced in 2010, and the larger S80 . It has been on the market since 2006 and underwent a slight facelift four years later. Volvo will show both facelifted sedans next year. In addition to these two cars, a new generation of SUV with the designation XC90 is also planned, which will be presented in the second half of 2014. The current XC90 has been on the market since 2002 and is thus the oldest model of the Swedish car company.

The next generation SUV will be built on a completely new SPA ( Scalable Platform Architecture ) platform. Volvo still aims to sell at least 800,000 vehicles a year by 2020. It also revealed that the US is the most strategically important market for them.
