Volkswagen Taigun – Small crossover goes into production!

German automaker Volkswagen has released new photos of the Taigun concept . With this step, he intends to draw attention to him again, because his production form has been officially approved !

The mini SUV concept originally appeared at the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil, and now Volkswagen has released a new set of photos and information. According to sources from the car company, the car will see production, while the development of the production form is just beginning .

This means that the first customers will probably not get their hands on the car until 2016 , if everything goes according to plan. And what will they be able to buy with their money? The serial Taigun will stand on the platform of the city minivan Up! . However, it does not allow the installation of all-wheel drive, so the novelty will be offered exclusively with front-wheel drive . Petrol and diesel three-cylinder engines will appear under the hood, and a natural gas version is also expected.

The Taigun's competitors will include cars such as the Fiat Panda Trekking or the Ford EcoSport , while the car will also compete for sales with its CrossUp sibling! , which will go on sale in Europe later this year.

As already mentioned, we will probably not see the serial Taigun until 2016 . However, due to its size and planned powertrains , the car will not be available to customers in the US market .
