About the sporty specification of the small Volkswagen up! has been talked about in the backroom for a good four years. Some time ago, the German manufacturer presented the concept up! GT with a turbocharged liter three-cylinder under the hood. No one doubted that the model conceived in this way would go into production, while clear data about the premiere gradually fell in the media – 2012, 2013, 2014, and already this year it appeared in connection with the serial sports up!. It's still quiet on the roads in Europe, so you have to go all the way to Brazil for a " polished" urban Volkswagen .
In the land of good football and samba, Volkswagen recently launched the up! with a turbocharged liter three-cylinder TSI with an output of 101 hp (105 hp when using ethanol) with a torque of 165 Nm at 1500 rpm. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and can accelerate from 80 km/h to 120 km/h in 13.9 seconds. Consumption in urban traffic is at the level of 7.2 l/100 km, outside the city it drops to 6.1 l/100 km.
The urban Volkswagen is available with a turbocharged three-cylinder in Move up! (43,490 reais – approx. 327,000 crowns), High up! (47,030 reais – approx. 354,000 crowns), Cross up! ( 48,040 reais – approx. 362,000 crowns) and most recently Speed up! . And it is the last-mentioned version with a base price of 49,990 reais (approx. 376,000 crowns) that is supposed to fulfill the role of the sportiest up!u in the offer not only mechanically, but also visually. That's why there are more prominently shaped bumpers, sill extensions, a roof painted in glossy black, a trunk lid and a strip in the front bumper, alloy wheels and blue graphics in the lower part of the doors. Inside, it's then the black glossy decors, Speed lettering, leather steering wheel and artificial leather-upholstered seats with white stitching that reveal the color of the model. In contrast to the appearance of the body and cabin, the technology has changed little, the slightly adjusted chassis settings are complemented by traction control.
