Volkswagen Polo BlueGT – we know technical information and prices

Volkswagen will offer customers the new Polo BlueGT in showrooms until the end of the year. However, more detailed technical information and especially prices are already known.

The BlueGT was designed to consume as little fuel as possible while offering the driver unadulterated driving pleasure behind the wheel. The engineers achieved these two opposing aspects by installing a 1.4TSI (138Hp/250Nm) power unit, which is equipped with a Stop/Start system and deactivation of the second and third cylinders when the driver does not need to use a lot of power. With these gadgets, the Polo BlueGT achieves a combined consumption of 4.6L/100km. However, if you pay extra for the seven-speed DSG automatic, you'll drive the same distance with the 4.5L. At the same time, it will offer acceleration to a hundred kilometer speed in under 8 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 210 km/h.

Volkswagen says the cylinder deactivation system can save up to 4dcl per hundred kilometers. The cylinders are switched off when the load is lower than 40%, so that the dynamics of the car are not unnecessarily restricted.

In order to achieve the lowest possible fuel consumption, they installed new bumpers on the Polo BlueGT in Wolfsburg with better air circulation, aerodynamic side sills, 17" alloy wheels and the ground clearance of the car was lowered. Inside, however, we find sports seats, a steering wheel and a multifunctional display that will display the car's telemetry. For example, we will be able to monitor when the engine is running on two cylinders.

In Germany, sales of the Polo BlueGT will start at the end of the year at a price of 19,650 euros (491,250 CZK). However, I doubt whether it will arrive in the Czech Republic with such a pricing policy.
