Volkswagen offers a small van derived from the Up!u

The range of Volkswagen up! it is indeed very wide and ranges from a classic three-door hatchback, through an emission-free electric model to a pseudo-off-road elevated Cross hatchback. Recently, a utility version was added to the price list in selected countries, which will be appreciated especially by small entrepreneurs.

That 3.54 meter long load up! was created, it was enough to remove the rear seats, install a dividing grille behind the front ones, equip the trunk floor with more durable lining and anchoring eyes, and finally darken the rear side windows of the only available five-door body. The basic equipment includes practically only the essentials, such as front and side airbags , seat belt warning, stabilization, hill start assistant, power steering, height-adjustable steering wheel or central control with remote control. There is an additional charge for radio, air conditioning or navigation. The maximum volume of the luggage compartment has increased to a very interesting 990 liters , while the useful weight depends on the chosen drive unit.

The basis is a liter three-cylinder tuned to 60 hp at 5000 rpm and 95 Nm between 3000 – 4300 rpm. Combined with a five-speed manual transmission, the 927 kg van accelerates to 100 km/h in 14.4 seconds, reaches a maximum of 160 km/h and consumes 4.5 l/100 km. The useful weight is a very respectable 438 kg and the price starts at a favorable 10,975 euros (approx. 302,000 crowns). Ecologically minded people will be interested in the second option offered, eco load up! with a liter three-cylinder EcoFuel , which burns natural gas in addition to conventional gasoline, with an output of 68 hp at 6200 rpm with a torque of 90 Nm at 3000 rpm. There is again a five-speed manual transmission, with which acceleration to 100 km/h takes 16.3 seconds, the maximum speed is 164 km/h and CNG consumption is 2.9 kg/100 km. In addition to a solid range of 600 km, the 1,023 kg heavy hatchback will carry 422 kg of cargo at a base price of 13,950 euros (approx. 384,000 crowns).

The electric e-load up deviates a lot from models with a conventional combustion engine! , first presented as a concept at the IAA in Frankfurt in 2013. Its body uses elements from the "normal" e-up!, which means not only painted mirror covers, but also a bumper with LED diodes and aerodynamic wheel covers. Additional equipment includes portable navigation, radio, heated seats, Climatronic air conditioning or electric and heated rear-view mirrors. The electric motor has a maximum output of 82 hp between 2,800-12,000 rpm and a torque of 210 Nm, which gives the car with a single-speed automatic a top speed of 130 km/h and acceleration to 100 km/h in 12.4 seconds. The lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 18.7 kWh is enough for a range of about 160 km. The maximum volume of the cargo space remained at 990 liters, but the useful weight dropped to 360 kg (the weight of the car is 1164 kg). However, if you decide to deliver pizza without emissions, prepare 27,425 euros (approx. 755,000 crowns)…
