Volkswagen introduced a modified version of the small SUV Taigun

The Volkswagen Taigun was first presented at the end of 2012 in Sao Paulo , Brazil. However, some Fridays have passed since then and Taigun has come closer to serial production . What it could look like in the end is shown by a modified version of the concept , exhibited in New Delhi.

The "Indian version" differs from the original Taigun by the use of Ultra Orange paint , moving the spare wheel to the fifth door and thus also opening the trunk differently. You now open it by first raising the window, and only then can you open the door itself to the left. Volkswagen explains the move of the spare wheel to the fifth door by the fact that the potential buyers themselves want it – allegedly because of better access to the reserve. The result is a length of 3995 mm, which is 136 mm more than the version without a visible reserve.

The interior differs from the original concept only in a different combination of colors – instead of white and black, it is cream and orange . There is still a display of the multimedia system on the center panel, and on the top of the entire dashboard there are three small alarm clocks – a coolant thermometer, an oil pressure gauge and a turbo filling pressure indicator. 280 liters of luggage can fit into the trunk, even 996 liters after folding down the seats.

Under the hood is a turbocharged three-cylinder TSI engine with an output of 110 hp and a maximum torque of 175 Nm. In combination with a six-speed manual, the small SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 186 km/h. Weighing only 998 kg, the car claims about 4.7 l/100 km and thanks to the 50 liter tank it has a range of up to 1000 km.
