Volkswagen presented the form of the modernized Polo

The modernized form of the Volkswagen Polo hardly surprises the eye of a car enthusiast. Technically , however, the German manufacturer took this facelift so thoroughly that no stone was left unturned under the hood .

The appearance of the new Polo makes it clear that its bigger sibling is the new Golf . The appearance of the front bumper and radiator grille with horizontal slats was primarily inspired by him. For the first time in the segment, LED front lights can be purchased for an additional fee. The rear part received a new bumper and a new design of the headlights. There are also five alloy wheel designs and eight new body colors to choose from. In the interior, we find a new instrument panel , a new steering wheel and a modified center console with new ventilation and heating control buttons and a five- or six-and-a-half-inch multimedia system screen.

Among the safety systems, a multi-collision brake will appear as standard, then adaptive cruise control, a driver fatigue monitoring system or a Front Assist system with emergency braking are available for an additional fee. Newly, the Polo is equipped with electro-mechanical power steering and electronically controlled Sport Select adaptive dampers, which are available at an extra cost.

A whole range of units has moved under the hood, meeting the Euro 6 emission standard . Petrol engines are now represented by the basic three-cylinder 1.0 MPI with 60 and 75 hp, already known from Up!, and the 1.2 TSI with 90 and 110 hp. At the top of the pyramid, the BlueGT version with a four-cylinder 1.4 TSI, cylinder deactivation and 150 hp, respectively, and the Polo GTI with a 1.4 TSI and 192 hp (12 hp more than before) remain at the top of the pyramid. Another novelty is the 1.0 BlueMotion TSI version with 90 hp. Three-cylinder diesel units will be offered with a single volume of 1.4 liters in three power levels – 75, 90 and 105 hp. The choice of transmissions remains a five- and six-speed manual, as well as a seven-speed DSG automatic.
