Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio revealed

The German concern Volkswagen recently announced that the world premiere of the Beetle Cabriolet will take place at the Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of November. However, they probably couldn't wait for the reaction of the public in Germany, which is why the first photos and information were revealed.

It was already clear in advance that the open version will be based on the traditional retro style of its sibling with a fixed roof. Volkswagen claims that the combination of a flatter roofline and a more upright windshield gives the car a shape that is closer to the first-generation Beetle Cabriolet . Retracting the canvas roof will take over 10 seconds and can be used up to a speed of 48 km/h. To protect passengers in the event of an accident, Volkswagen reinforced the A-pillars and developed the Automatic Rollover Support System , which includes two rollover bars located behind the rear seats.

The Beetle Cabrio will arrive on the European market with a total of seven engines. The basic engine will be the 1.2 TSI (105 hp) in the normal version and the economical BlueMotion . Two more petrol units will appear in the offer – 1.4 TSI (160 hp) and 2.0 TSI (200 hp). For diesels, expect 1.6 TDI (105 hp) and 2.0 TDI (140 hp).

It will go on sale in Germany in November of this year from 21,350 Euros (about 532,000 crowns in conversion).
