Volkswagen has modernized the Amarok pickup truck

Last November saw the arrival of a modernized version of Volkswagen 's Amarok pickup truck . Less than half a year has passed and Volkswagen is modernizing the Amarok again, despite great sales.

True, this modernization focused primarily on the technical side of things. Until now, the role of the basic engine was fulfilled by a four-cylinder diesel 2.0 TDI with an output of 122 hp. However, Volkswagen put an end to that!

If you want a basic Amarok, count on the new version of the 2.0 TDI diesel with common rail injection , which has 18 more horsepower! It means that the new base Amarok has 140 hp and 340 Nm of torque between 1600 – 2250 rpm.

Higher power has brought better dynamic parameters – the new Amarok is 0.6 seconds faster to 100 km/h (12.6 seconds) and reaches a 4 km/h higher maximum speed (168 km/h). Volkswagen has also tinkered with the transmission, so that the flexible acceleration from 80 km/h to 120 km/h in fifth gear is 0.5 seconds faster.

Despite the increased power, consumption remained at the same level as the outgoing model (6.8 l/100 km). If you have already decided on the new Amarok 2.0 TDI, then know that you can have it with a Single Cab or Double Cab body, with rear or all-wheel drive and with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In addition to the engine, Volkswagen also adjusted the price list or its equipment part. New RNS 510 radio navigation, the ParkPilot system combined with a rear parking camera, independent heating with remote control, fog lights with a cornering function and the Light and Sight package can now be had for an additional fee.
