Video: Praga R1 at Donington Park – EVO Magazine

But first, some technical information so that we can put this incredible envy into the right context.

The basis of the Praga R1 is a carbon monocoque that naturally meets FIA safety standards. Its appearance is enhanced by functional bodywork, creating true aerodynamic grip that you must rely on 100% when chasing the first place in the race. The mid-mounted 2.0-litre Renault four-cylinder producing 213bhp (at 7250rpm ) doesn't grab all the attention, but combined with the Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox ensures that all the power transmitted to the sticky Dunlop rear slicks is used to the maximum. The air stream then only amplifies all the efforts, when it presses a mere 592 kilograms to the ground. At 210 km/h, the R1 develops a downforce equal to its weight and the driver. The maximum speed of over 225 km/h and the acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds are of course variable values depending on the gearbox settings and the set-up of the entire car for the given circuit.

We'll just add that Henry tested the non- supercharged version of the Praga R1 . The R1 Endurance Cup will already be fitted with new turbocharged engines, so some values may vary.

The video refers to the article from EVO magazine No. 036 (Czech version) or No. 194 (English version). We recommend it, it's definitely worth a read.
