The first of them is the CLA 45 AMG Racing Series racing special, which Mercedes will offer to teams as a gateway to the world of car racing. The base is, as the name suggests, the sports version of the CLA 45 AMG . A turbocharged two-liter will appear under the hood, the performance of which will be adjusted for the needs of a specific series, as well as the type of transmission and the choice between front or all-wheel drive . The chassis is equipped with racing suspension, dampers with adjustable characteristics, new springs and suspension. The racing appearance of the CLA 45 AMG Racing Series is underlined by a large rear wing, modified bumpers and new sills (all made of carbon). The interior is equipped with only the essentials, such as Recaro racing seats with the HANS system, a new steering wheel and a safety cage.
The CLA 250 Sports model is intended for regular roads, which is about halfway between the regular CLA and the AMG model. The engine is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an output of 211 hp at 5,500 rpm and a torque of 350 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels by a dual-clutch 7G-DCT automatic transmission.
