The new generation of the Trago model with a new name

Hyundai Motor Company 's commercial vehicle division unveiled the new Xcient heavy-duty truck at the Seoul Motor Show . The successor to the Trago range , launched in 2006, arrives on the scene with an even better design and many improved features.

The Xcient sets new standards in the heavy-duty truck market with a remarkable combination of impressive dynamic design, best-in-class fuel consumption and a spacious cabin. Xcient , whose three-year development cost 200 billion won (approx. 3.61 billion CZK), offers a complete range of variants including box vehicles, tractors and tippers. From the first stages of development, the needs of truck operators and market trends were fully taken into account. The wide grille underlines the vehicle's confident appearance, while the broad character lines enhance its bold yet sophisticated character.

The cabin height has been increased by 330 mm to 1895 mm to provide more space for the driver. The width of the bed inside the cab was increased from 650 mm to 800 mm as part of the optimization of the truck for long-distance transport. More practicality is also offered by the storage space with a volume of 1046 liters . The Xcient is offered with two diesel engine variants: the 10-litre H engine delivers a peak power of 420bhp and a peak torque of 1960Nm, while the Powertech engine is tuned for a peak power of 520bhp and a peak torque of 2499Nm.

Due to the better operating characteristics of the engines, it was possible to increase the economy of the new model by seven percent compared to its predecessor. The new model also boasts a longer life thanks to improved components such as the dual clutch, air suspension and shock absorbers. The result is more economical operation with lower maintenance costs.
