Toyota upgraded Yaris model

Outside of the Beijing or New York auto show, not many cars have been presented in recent days. The exception is the Toyota Yaris (and its Japanese twin Vitz ), which was shown yesterday for the first time in a modernized version .

We can see the design changes of the European version in only one photo so far, but it is clearly inspired by the new Toyota Aygo , produced in Cologne. Although the distinctive X is missing, above all the large intake opening together with the new radiator grille refer to this urban model. Also new are the main lights with a darker background and LED diodes for daytime running lights . Thanks to the Toyota Vitz , the twin of the Yaris on the Japanese market, we can also see the rear part , where modernized headlights and a revised area around the license plate found their place. To make the list complete, it should be added that the Vitz has a smaller intake opening in the bumper and a different grille compared to the European Yaris.

Also, the interior has been shown so far only in the Japanese version , and changes in it are mainly based on feedback from customers. Thanks to it, Toyota could focus on three basic areas – spaciousness, dynamics and quality. The changes were said to have taken place in all three areas, but the automaker was not specific. Nevertheless, when comparing the two model years , changes can be observed in the area of climate control and the multimedia system, which has also been upgraded in terms of software. The already classic range of colors and equipment was also expanded.

The chassis has undergone changes, which is now more secure and also more comfortable. The level of noise penetrating the cabin has also been reduced. Under the hood, it seems that there will be no changes. There will be a choice of 1.0 and 1.3 liter petrol units , 1.4 D-4D diesel and, of course, a hybrid drivetrain .
