Toyota Supra successor confirmed, new MR-2 may arrive!

For several years there has been speculation about whether we will see a successor to one legend – the Toyota Supra . However, recently the chief engineer of the GT86 , Tetsuya Tada , confirmed: "The president of the Japanese brand himself, Akio Toyoda, has asked me that the Supra's successor will arrive as soon as possible ". The sports model Supra was produced in the years 1978-2002 and in a total of four generations, in my opinion the most famous is the last one.

But to make matters worse, Toyota even confirmed two new sports cars. In the model menu, one will be placed below the current GT86 and the other above it. The new Supra has been confirmed, but the second sports car is starting to be speculated. The most likely possibility is that the Toyota MR-2 could return . The premiere of both cars is not planned, but according to the chief engineer, the GT86 needs at least five years of space for development. Bottom line, we could have a new Supra around 2017, and a new Mazda RX-7 is also expected around this time. It is also confirmed that the successor to the legend will take precedence over the speculated MR-2 .

For a change, the Detroit Daily reported that Toyota could work with Tesla on the new Supra. Finding a common path should not be a problem, as the two aforementioned car companies are currently developing the RAV4 EV . But there is still plenty of time to speculate about the development, especially after Toyota confirmed cooperation on the development of a sports model with BMW as well.
