This year, the Land Cruiser 70 celebrates its thirtieth birthday , and Toyota has decided to give its fans the best gift – it will resume production and sales of the model on the domestic market for a year, and in addition to the classic version with a closed body and the name Van, it will also add a Pickup with a double cabin – the one in It was never made available to Japan. The Land Cruiser 70 Van measures 4810mm in length, 1870mm in width and 1920mm in height, the Pickup is slightly larger at 5270mm in length, 1770mm in width and 1950mm in height. It also rides on a longer wheelbase of 3180mm, while the Van is "only" 2700mm. Both models can accommodate five passengers and cargo , in the case of a Van weighing 500 kg and in the case of a Pickup weighing 600 kg.
You won't find what Toyota has modernized inside and outside under the body of an off-roader. It is still true that the Land Cruiser is equipped with a ladder frame and, thanks to transverse stiffeners, it offers not only exemplary rigidity on unpaved roads, but also comfort on classic ones. At the front we would find coil springs while at the rear are leaf springs. Of course, all-wheel drive is not missing, but it can be assigned. The engine is powered by a four-liter six-cylinder petrol engine with variable valve timing VVT-i and a lightweight aluminum cylinder block, which has an output of 231 hp at 5,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 360 Nm at 3,800 rpm.
