Toyota presented the concept of an urban tricycle

When Mercedes first came out with the Smart car , it caused such a small revolution. Whoever had a Smart could move around the city with ease and confidence. However, this revolutionary car has long since been overtaken. In its place, another urban piece is also trying to push its way – the Toyota i-Road .

She goes about it even more radically than Smart . Instead of four wheels, it has only three, instead of sitting next to each other in a tandem , and instead of the full concentration of the driver, the electronics take care of the turning for the most part.

I-Road offers the Active Lean system , which automatically helps to balance with the car in corners based on the angle of rotation of the wheels, the speed of the car and the gyroscope. A car can thus remind a person of a motorcycle when passing a bend.

In addition to passers-by, the driver himself can also feel like he's on a motorcycle. The 2350 mm long , 1445 mm high and 850 mm wide car is powered by two 2 kW electric motors located on the front wheels. Toyota claims a range of 50 km and a charging time from a regular network in 3 hours. But she cleverly hid the dynamic parameters.

If you are interested in a car or a tricycle, you can go and see it in Geneva . It will be on the Toyota stand until 17 March 2013.
