Top Gear in trouble again? The BBC has announced that one of its presenters is quitting

Few would believe it, but it has been three years since the famous trio left the famous motoring show Top Gear – Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. After a long hiatus, a group of six led by Chris Evans took over the moderating. But even he left after the first series at his own request.

The party was selected and Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris and Rory Reid hosted the British show, but of course the favorite The Stig was also present. The BBC was finally satisfied that there were no longer any obstacles to the filming of the series, and since 2016 the show has been running at full speed again. But now it looks like the leader of the trio, Matt LeBlanc, will be finished.

The former Friends star will leave Top Gear after the next series, which airs this autumn. This will be his fourth and final series since joining the team in 2016. LeBlanc said bluntly: “My experience on Top Gear has been a lot of fun and I've really enjoyed working with the whole team. Although I've enjoyed every shoot, unfortunately the time commitment and frequent travel required for Top Gear takes away time for family and friends, which I don't like. I will forever be a fan of Top Gear and wish the whole team continued success. Thank you all for a great ride.”

And what did his fellow trio say? Chris Harris said on his Twitter account: "I'm glad I had the privilege of working with Matt and I'm sorry to see him leave, but I completely understand his reasons." And as for Rory Reid, he wrote the following on his Twitter: "Thank you for a laugh, Matt. It was a ride! Good luck with everything for the future.'

BBC 2's program editor, Patrick Holland, praised LeBlanc for being a brilliant collaborator who really fit into the show while revealing his extraordinary knowledge of cars, even being willing to get down and dirty. The next series of Top Gear, Matt's last, is said to be something special and at the same time the TV has great plans to welcome a new presenter. He will join the team from 2019 and will see each other.

So far there is no information about the successor, but if you remember, LeBlanc was chosen precisely because he is a famous American actor, but also a car and motorcycle enthusiast. Thanks to his nationality, he helped popularize the program on the other side of the Atlantic. So maybe he will be replaced by someone in a similar situation.
