The new Mercedes-Benz G-Class

It's unbelievable, but this off-road legend has been with us continuously since 1979. It started as a work and military vehicle, was also sold under the brands Steyr-Puch or Peugeot , and now the top model W463 belongs to luxury off-roaders. However, both the work and army specifications are still in production.

We won't see the new version until 2017, but Mercedes is already revealing some details. The frame and body should use more aluminum, which will reduce the weight of the car. Nevertheless, it will not avoid the trend of enlargement, especially should it be met by expansion. It will take over the power units from the Mercedes E-class , which will come to the market a year earlier. The nine-speed automatic transmission 9G-Tronic also gets into the "geek".

Mercedes does not want to spoil it for the fans, it should keep the proportions and main design elements from the current model. In order to make it look more modern, some details from the Ener-G-Force concept from 2012 will most likely appear. The main improvements await the interior, which will adapt more to the comfort of passengers. Thanks to the increase in dimensions, it will be more spacious and much better equipped. Of course, AMG versions will also appear, which have a significant share in the sales of the G class .
