The new generation of GM pickups

The pickup truck category is still the most popular of all vehicles sold in America. Therefore, it is not surprising that the GM concern paid a lot of attention to the premiere of the pair of Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra .

The design of the models is slightly conservative. The main lines remained similar to the predecessors. The distinctively chromed radiator grille and front headlights are dominant – traditionally divided in the Silverado, one-piece in the Sierra. Compared to its predecessor, the hood was also changed, and the front doors were shortened and the rear doors lengthened for the Crew cab version. In the rear of the car, you will find new headlights that can be equipped with LEDs . Both pickups also feature new 17- to 20-inch alloy wheel designs.

No stone was left unturned in the interior . After all, the last generation of both pickups already remembers something. The central console with a 4.2 or 8-inch screen of the MyLink system is dominant. Below it you will find the climate control and some other functions. On the central tunnel between the seats, look for several storage areas including cup holders. It would definitely be wrong to leave out the new four-spoke steering wheel , behind which modified analog alarm clocks are hidden.

Under the hood, three new engines of the EcoTec3 series with a cylinder shutdown function will appear right away. The weakest will be the six-cylinder 4.3 , the middle engine will be the eight-cylinder 5.3 , and the top of the range will be the eight-cylinder 6.2 . GM has not yet released the necessary information for any of the engines, but we know that the units should be more economical than their predecessors. All-wheel drive and automatic transmission will certainly not be missing from the offer!
