The chassis of the new Escalado will offer a wider track of the rear wheels in combination with a new rear axle with a locking rear differential. The new Cadillac will also feature electric power steering with a variable steering system that improves fuel economy, StabiliTrak electronic stabilization and better Duralife brakes.
At the start of sales, only the eight-cylinder 6.2 with a power of 426 hp and a torque of 623 Nm will be available. The engine is equipped with direct fuel injection , a cylinder deactivation system or variable valve timing, thanks to which it was possible to reduce fuel consumption while increasing power. The engine works with a six-speed Hydra-Matic 6L80 automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, which can alternatively be replaced by four-wheel drive.
