The new engine under the hood of the Opel Meriva

The range of 1.6 CDTI diesels under the hood of the Opel Meriva is finally complete. After the 136 and 110 hp versions comes the third and weakest version with 95 hp.

The novelty replaces the older 1.3 CDTI unit , which had the same output of 95 hp , but the torque ended at 180 Nm. The new unit has 100 Nm more, yet it is more economical – it uses 4 liters of diesel per 100 km and emits 105 g of CO2/km, which is 4 g/km less than its predecessor.

Meriva's modified six-speed manual transmission , as well as the standard stop/start system, helped these values. Compliance with the Euro 6 emission standard is a matter of course. The new engine is already on sale in Germany and its price starts at 19,150 euros (approx. 525,000 CZK).
