The European version of the modernized SsangYong Korando

We have written a lot about the modernized version of the SsangYong Korando , which in Asia also received the letter C in its name. But now there is a reason to return to this Korean SUV – the 2014 model year Korando is heading to the European market!

The appearance of the Asian and European variants differs practically only in the design of the rear part . While in Asia the SUV boasts a distinctive Korando C logo on the lower part of the trunk lid, not only does the letter C disappear here, but the Korando name can be found on the strip above the license plate. Below is the name of the car manufacturer and the engine used in smaller letters. The rest of the changes, such as front lights with LED daytime running lights, new bumpers or taillights, remain.

A new center console appears in the interior, made of better materials, which can be equipped with a multimedia system with a seven-inch screen and navigation on request. The instrument panel is also completely new.

From the point of view of a European, the most important thing is the range of engines. Among the gasoline engines, only a two-liter four-cylinder with a power of 149 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission will appear. A two-liter turbodiesel engine is also available, but unlike the gasoline engine, it offers two power options – 149 or 175 horsepower. A weaker version is available with a manual, a stronger version with an automatic. By the end of next year, a new diesel with a volume of 1.6 will enrich the range of engines. If you are interested in all-wheel drive, you must choose a diesel unit – only front-wheel drive is available for the two-liter gasoline engine.
