Swedish Saab in new hands resumed production yesterday!

After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, the lines started up again yesterday in Trollhättan , Sweden . NEVS , the current owner of the once bankrupt Saab car company , has resumed production of the only 9-3 Aero model for the time being.

Aside from the automaker's badges, which NEVS doesn't have the rights to, the mid-size sedan looks exactly as it ended up some time ago. For the time being, there is only one engine under the hood – a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder with a power of 220 horsepower and can work with a manual or automatic transmission . For now, only the front axle should be driven.

For now, NEVS plans to produce about 10 units per week , with orders to be accepted from December 10. The base price was set at SEK 279,000 (approx. CZK 860,000) for the manual and SEK 289,000 (approx. CZK 891,000) for the automatic variant. Sales will first take place in Sweden via the NEVS website . A little while after the Nordic country, it will also reach China, other corners of the world have to wait for now.

Next year we will see the electric variant , which has already been proclaimed several times, which will first be available to Chinese customers. However, even from this, still exotic country for some, the first major order landed on NEVS's desk – 200 electric 9-3s for the city of Qingdao. It is not without interest that China is to be the largest market for electric Saabs in the future.
