Suzuki currently lacks a full-fledged representative in the lower middle class . Although the SX4 crossover represents this category at the Japanese automaker, it does not have much of a chance to succeed with its bodywork against more classic competitors. However, the Authentics concept presented in Shanghai hints at where Suzuki can go in the C segment.
With a length of 4.6 meters, a wheelbase of 2.75 meters… It sounds like a solid competitor to the Volkswagen Jetta (in China Sagitar), Opel Astra Sedan or Skoda Rapid, don't you think? Compared to all those mentioned above, this Suzuki has one big advantage – a dynamic design that will catch many an aesthetic eye.
Some elements already saw the light of day a month ago on the new generation of the aforementioned SX4 crossover . Still, the low and wide bodywork is unique enough that you definitely won't confuse it with the SX4. Almost routine for new concepts is the use of LEDs in the front and rear lights, as well as the installation of large alloy wheels.
Unfortunately, Suzuki does not provide more information. In the press release, in addition to basic data about the Authentics sedan, you can read that the new generation SX4 , which bears the designation SX4 S-Cross in China, is celebrating its Chinese premiere in Shanghai.
