Suzuki is responding to the boom in the urban crossover category

As we have already mentioned and convinced ourselves several times during the Frankfurt Motor Show , the urban SUV category is on the rise. At present, mainly European brands operate in it, but the Japanese Suzuki is also preparing its response.

Let's look for the harbinger of that answer in the iV-4 concept . The name can be easily deciphered – i as individuality, V as means of transport (in English vehicle) and 4 as four-wheel drive.

With a length of 4215 mm , a width of 1850 mm and a height of 1665 mm, the iV-4 fits right in between the existing Jimny and Grand Vitara models . They also resemble them in terms of appearance, which is especially noticeable on the radiator grille, which is divided into 5 parts and has a higher ground clearance. Large 20-inch wheels with 235/55 tires and futuristic elements such as mirrors or fog lights with a laser sensor on the roof cannot be missing.

The series version of the iV-4, which will arrive in 2015 , wants to be the best in terms of CO 2 production in its category. Despite the ecological mindset, however, all-wheel drive will be available.
