Subaru introduced the WRX S4 sedan

Last year, after one generation, the two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder returned under the hood of the WRX version , which together with the top-of-the-line WRX STI created a seemingly successful tandem. Between these two sedans, they are now trying to place the WRX S4 version , which is intended only for the Japanese market.

And what is so special about her? Under the hood is still a two-liter four-cylinder with a turbo like the WRX, but the engineers tuned it to 300 hp at 5,600 rpm and 400 Nm between 2,000 and 48,000 rpm. This means that the S4 has a 28 horsepower advantage over the American specification WRX and is dangerously close to the top version of the WRX STI, which has 305 horsepower in the European specification. The only drawback can only be the fact that the power is transmitted to all wheels exclusively by a gearbox with a continuously variable Lineartronic transmission .

Hand in hand with the strengthened engine goes the strengthening of the chassis with the help of high-strength steel and redesigned suspension, or power steering with better response. In terms of appearance, the S4 differs from the previously presented WRX only in the design of the eighteen-inch wheels , which are lighter and stiffer at the same time, a different rendering of the LEDs for daytime running lights and a much more pronounced front splitter. In the interior, decor in imitation of carbon, stitching with red thread and metallic elements will catch your eye. Safety assistants in the WRX S4 include EyeSight, Active Lane Keep, Pre-Collision Braking Control and adaptive cruise control.
