The brands of the Subaru Tecnica International division (abbreviated STI) can be found, similar to the case of the predecessor, already on the body of the Forester SUV . Nevertheless, we will not see a sibling of the WRX STI sedan – the sporty Forester is produced under the name tS .
Even if you don't choose the blue body color typical of STI models, the Forester tS looks very aggressive, but not overly so. The main part of the changes are provided by 19-inch alloy wheels together with a new grille with a red line and a black painted segment in the front bumper. A sharp eye will also reveal a spoiler on top of the trunk lid and black sill extensions and part of the rear bumper, where the black is complemented by a red line.
The black with fine accessories in red continues in the interior, where we can find it, among other things, on the sports seats with the STI logo (upholstery in a combination of leather and suede), the leather sports steering wheel and the shift lever head. In addition to carbon, the decorations are also provided by piano lacquer , the pedals have a new, sportier design. The instrument panel received new alarm clocks with the STI logo.
Under the hood we find a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder engine with an optimized control unit with an output of 280 hp and a torque of 350 Nm, which is seconded by an automatic transmission with a continuously variable transmission . Among other things, it also received a modified control unit and a new oil cooler. The chassis is 15 mm closer to the road and benefits from a stiffer anti-roll bar, revised suspension and rear subframe. Stops are handled by ventilated Brembo discs with red STI calipers.
Production will be limited to 300 produced pieces , with one costing 4,350,000 yen (approx. 817,000 crowns). However, all 300 cars will remain in Japan.
