Subaru Forester 2014 – new generation caught without camouflage

The Japanese automaker Subaru is testing the new generation of its Forester model. The proof is the first real pictures that were taken in the parking lot of the Japanese brand's factory. However, the Forester was revealed for the first time last month, when a scanned brochure for the car leaked onto the Internet.

The new Forester took the design direction from the current models in the range – XV and Impreza . From the previous generation, it has a revised front mask, differently shaped door sills or perhaps we can find a small triangle of glass near the rear-view mirrors. By the way, these are now mounted on the door. According to the revealed brochure, the new model will be larger than its predecessor, specifically we know the numbers – length 4595 mm (increase by 35 mm), width 1695 mm (increase by 20 mm) and height 1795 mm (increase by 15 mm).

Of course, the wheelbase has also increased to 2640 mm (extended by 25 mm), which means that we will find more space in the cabin for passengers sitting in the back. Thanks to the wheelbase, the volume of the luggage compartment has also increased, it will now offer 505 liters (an increase of 55 liters). In the version with a hinged lid , the volume of the luggage will be only 488 liters.

Forester on the Japanese market will get two gasoline units under the hood. The first will be a 146-horsepower 2.0-liter that will be mated to either a six-speed manual or a CVT transmission . The second will also have a 2.0-liter capacity, but with a double turbocharger with an output of 276 horsepower and only a CVT transmission . We do not yet know what engines will reach the European market .
