For the 2014 model year, Subaru slightly upgraded the BRZ coupe in the domestic market. Rather than appearance or technical changes, it is about the introduction of a new variant of the tS by STI , which was unofficially introduced a few weeks ago.
But let's start with the changes to the standard BRZ . The S model gets a more aerodynamic undercarriage cover, while the brushed RA version gets vented discs and a Torsen differential in the list of extras.
However, the most important innovation of the entire facelift is without a doubt the launch of the tS by STI model . This has been talked about for several weeks. First, Subaru published a BRZ trailer with STI logos, which was supposed to indicate only one – a more powerful variant. In the end, however, it turned out to be "just" a modified standard BRZ .
The tS by BRZ will be available in two variants – a classic version or a version with the GT package . Both versions are intended to improve the grip of the Japanese coupe, and both will also receive Brembo brakes , a modified chassis (new struts, dampers or springs), a larger driveshaft and a modified VDC system. The differences between the models mainly concern the design. The base model gets silver 18-inch wheels, while the GT version gets black wheels. In addition to these, the GT also gets a large adjustable carbon wing .
In the interior, you will definitely notice sports seats upholstered in Alcantara, a new steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake lever, other alarm clocks and a button to start the engine. The GT version will receive the same changes, only the seats will be replaced by even sportier ones from the famous company Recaro . Of course also upholstered in Alcantara.
Only 500 units of the tS by STI model will be produced. Exactly half will then be equipped with the GT package.
