A specially modified Skoda Yeti will intervene at the airport

Skoda Yeti is the official " Follow-me-car " at the airport in Mladá Boleslav. The specially modified Yeti will guide planes around the runway and also serve as an emergency vehicle at the airport.

"Follow the Skoda Yeti car" – this imaginary instruction will now have to be followed by all planes taking off or landing at the airport in Mladá Boleslav . To fulfill its tasks on the runway, the car has specific equipment, based on the police version of the Skoda Yeti model. Under the hood of the "airport Yeti" is a two-liter TDI diesel engine with a capacity of 140 hp.

"We are very pleased that the airport at our company's headquarters in Mladá Boleslav will now use a Skoda Yeti car as a " Follow-me-car ", says Michael Oeljeklaus, member of the Skoda Board of Directors for production and logistics. The domestic car manufacturer thereby contributes to increasing the safety of air traffic at this airport. " The Skoda Yeti is a truly versatile car and will provide excellent service to the airport. At the same time, the cooperation proves the close connection of our company with the city and the local airport," said Oeljeklaus on the occasion of handing over the car to Aeroklub chairman Zdenek Ježko.

The car was prepared for its tasks by specialists at the Skoda Auto service center in Kosmonosy . Technically, the modified " Follow-me-car " is based on the Yeti model in a modification for the city police. An orange beacon with a switchable Follow Me inscription is mounted on the roof. Polep, specially developed by Skoda designers, clearly identifies the Yeti car as a " Follow-me-car " at first glance.
