Smart introduced the concept of a four-seat model

The four-seater Smart ForFour ended without a successor back in 2006. It was the first and last serial Smart with four seats. Time has moved on and the German carmaker, in the form of the FourJoy concept , is bringing the four-seater body back into the game.

At first glance, it resembles a Smart . The front part is similar to the one that appeared, for example, on the ForVision concept, there is also an aluminum Tridion safety frame and short body overhangs. The only thing that surprises is the absence of side doors and rear glass. In addition, the roof is also open, so the FourJoy is almost an ideal means of aerial transport, for example to the beach.

The interior is equipped with a pair of separate seats in the front and a bench for two people in the back . The rest of the cabin is very futuristic and practically expresses the attitude of the modern young generation towards similar devices. This means that almost all of the car's functions are controlled via two smartphones – one located on the front passenger center console, the other located on the rear passenger center tunnel.

The 3,494 mm long , 1,978 mm wide and 1,494 mm high Smart is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor with a capacity of 75 horsepower, which is powered by lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 17.6 kWh. It takes 7 hours to fully charge them if you use a normal home network, or only an hour if you use a special on-board charger with a power of 22 kW, which can only be connected to a wall-box or a public network.

As a last resort, if you run out of energy, Smart has prepared a pair of electric longboards located on the roof. Safety is ensured by helmets, which are placed in the luggage compartment instead.
