The Chinese are known for their love of long-wheelbase cars. Skoda is also trying to comply with this trend, which will start producing the modernized Yeti SUV at the Yizheng factory .
The design of the front part is already well known to Europeans, the customer may look at the back part with a little disbelief. As a true "off-roader", the new Yeti got a spare wheel on the fifth door. Unlike Europe, China will probably only see the Outdoor version with "rougher" bumpers or decent plastic fender protection.
However, the spare wheel is not the only change that can be noticed. The Chinese version of the Yeti has a length of 4275 mm, which is 52 mm more than the European version. The wheelbase is 60 mm longer (2638 mm), but the height is 9 mm less than the Chinese specification. The width remained at 1793 mm.
The role of the basic and at the same time the only unit is fulfilled by the four-cylinder 1.8 TSI , which can be combined with a six-speed automatic or a dual-clutch DSG transmission with the same number of steps. Later, a weaker four-cylinder 1.4 TSI will be added to the offer.
