Skoda will present the new Superb already in Geneva

Contrary to the original assumptions, which said something about a premiere at the end of 2015 or at the beginning of 2016, the third generation of the modern Skoda Superb is already heading to the Geneva Motor Show, which takes place in about six months. In addition to the earlier premiere, we can look forward to the technology of the new Passat u and a more stylish design.

Jozef Kabaň, chief designer of the Mladá Boleslav car company, intends to give the new Superb a sportier face, which will be characterized by a lower and at the same time wider body . We could already see its individual elements on the VisionC concept , so we can expect the Tornado line, sharply cut lights and a dynamically shaped hood. The offer of liftback and combi will remain, but we will not see the advanced Twindoor system.

Under the approximately 4800 mm long body, the MQB modular platform will be installed, which in this form will be shared with the eighth generation of the Volkswagen Passat. Engines will also come from the German model, including, for example, a 190-horsepower version of the 2.0 TDI turbodiesel or a 280-horsepower two-liter TSI , replacing the 3.6-liter six-cylinder. According to many sources, we should also expect a plug-in hybrid version (originally from the Passat GTE ), which from the combination of an electric motor and 1.4 TSI mines a total of 211 horses with a consumption of around 2 l/100 km and 50 purely electric kilometers.
