At the beginning of May, a traditional meeting of Volkswagen GTI cars took place in Austria, at Lake Wörthersee . And since the event has been supported by the parent factory for some time, there were also new cars and concepts. But why are we writing about this event almost three weeks after its end? Skoda just today published a larger portion of images of its biggest news.
The Rapid Sport Concept is perhaps a more important and interesting car than it seems. In a year or two, it can (and should) turn out to be the upcoming Rapid RS , which is supposed to raise the image and sales from the beginning of the criticized liftback.
What do the new images even show? Nothing groundbreaking. However, the damage on them demonstrates the luminosity of the xenon lights and LEDs , which are elements that you do not get in the classic Rapid even for an extra charge. Otherwise, the car hasn't changed at all.
The body is painted in Corrida red and Steel gray and offers an attractive body kit, nineteen-inch wheels, a diffuser with two integrated exhaust tips and a rear spoiler. In the interior (which we haven't seen yet), Recaro sports seats , a sports steering wheel or door sill lighting should have their place.
