I just like the new Skoda Rapid . At a time when automakers are indulging in fluid design, the clean lines and edges of the Rapid are almost a balm for the soul. However, it would be a sin to call this latest model of the car manufacturer from Mladá Boleslav as boring. Thanks to the MissionL concept, from which the Rapid is based, we already know that even simple shapes can be elegant and attractive at the same time. And it doesn't really matter whether we are talking about the front part of the 4,483 mm long car or its rear parts.
After all, the interior is carried in a very similar spirit to the exterior. However, I would welcome some creativity here. Although the dashboard looks very elegant, it is also very austere in its own way. And I'm not even talking about how it will look in basic equipment without a large display and with dark plastics. Still, I think the Rapid is headed primarily for waters where dashboard design isn't the main selling point. For example, the size of the luggage compartment will have much more weight. It is a beautiful 550 liters. After folding the rear seats, it will increase to a final 1,490 liters. And I'm not even talking about the practical boxes and storage spaces that are located all over the car.
So we know that the Rapid looks good, will offer plenty of interior space for both luggage and passengers. It will also offer features such as heated front seats, dual-zone air conditioning or GPS navigation. But what will it be powered by?
In the offer we will find a fairly wide range of power units, the basis of which will be the famous three-cylinder with a displacement of 1.2 liters with an output of 55 kW (75 hp) and a torque of 112 Nm. At the opposite end of the spectrum will be a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.4 TSI with a maximum output of 90 kW (122 hp) and 200 Nm of torque. Do you prefer diesel? Not a problem. The 16-litre diesel will appear in Rapid in two variants.
