The Skoda Rapid in the basic liftback variant is not selling as well as the management of the Mladá Boleslav car company had expected. That's why reinforcements should arrive soon in the form of the much -loved station wagon variant !
It will bear the name Spaceback , somewhat unconventionally for Skoda, and in addition to extra space, it should also offer a much more elegant design. What the station wagon positioned between the Fabia Combi and the Octavia III Combi will look like is at least slightly indicated by the rendering below .
In practical terms, the Rapid Spaceback should not lag behind the original Octavia I Combi (later Octavia Tour Combi). But there will be one big difference between the two cars – the Rapid, thanks to its longer wheelbase, offers more legroom for rear passengers.
When exactly Rapid Spaceback will arrive is unclear. No prototype has been caught on the roads yet…
