Skoda Octavia III caught with minimal camouflage!

Skoda Octavia will be presented next month already in its third generation, but let's remember how it all started. The name Octavia appeared for the very first time in 1996, when the first generation of the car from the lower middle class segment was revealed. The obvious modernization followed (2001), and then the second generation arrived in 2004 at the Geneva Motor Show (on sale since 2005). The "double" Octavia underwent a facelift in 2009 and is still sold. Most Czech enthusiasts of the domestic brand are impatiently waiting for the premiere of the new generation , for now the test prototype was caught on the roads again, but with minimal camouflage.

The new Octavia is to offer an evolutionary design, which will of course be based on the recently revealed Rapid model. The new generation is intended to impress above all with a completely new front fascia, a sloping roof line and a side profile where the line connects the front and rear lights. We've written about it before, but repetition is the mother of wisdom. Octavia III will be built on the MQB platform (the same one is also used by Seat Leon , VW Golf VII or Audi A3 ). Thanks to it, the weight of the new model will be lower than that of the previous model, despite the fact that the next Octavia will increase in length by almost 250 mm .

The engine range will be taken from the Volkswagen Golf VII , so under the hood will appear, for example:
