The Skoda Citigo is now also available with a compressed natural gas drive, setting new standards in the area of environmental friendliness. Emissions are only 79 g/km! This result is achieved by using a combination of ecological fuel in the form of compressed natural gas and the Green tec ecological package . This consists of elements such as the Start-Stop system, brake energy recovery and tires with reduced rolling resistance.
The Citigo CNG Green tec with a 50 kW engine consumes only 4.4 m 3 of natural gas per 100 km. The range of the car is 620 km (400 km on gas, 220 km on petrol). Both natural gas tanks have a total capacity of 72 liters (12 kg CNG ). The larger of the two tanks is located behind the rear axle in the space created by removing the recess for the spare wheel. A smaller gas tank is located in the immediate vicinity of the ten liter reserve petrol tank.
With the Skoda Citigo model, the Czech carmaker has been present in the growing segment of small city cars for almost a year. Special emphasis is placed on safety here. As the first ever minivan, the Citigo, along with other sister models, received the best possible rating in the Euro NCAP crash test . For the first time in a Skoda car, the Head-Thorax side airbag with head protection is used to protect the driver and passenger. Together with the rigid body structure and other equipment elements, the Citigo provides an exemplary package of passive safety in its class.
A novelty and the pinnacle of safety in the minivan class is the new City Safe Drive system with an emergency braking function. Depending on the speed and traffic situation, the automatic activation of the brakes can mitigate the consequences of an impact, or even prevent a collision altogether.
