Skoda Parts Center in Mladá Boleslav has been completely completed. Today, the automatic rack warehouse was put into full operation. In total, the automaker invested approximately 31.8 million euros in the new center .
With approximately 25,000 deliveries per day , it is an important part of the worldwide supply of original parts and accessories of the Skoda brand and the Volkswagen, Audi and Seat group brands. At the same time, it is the largest warehouse of original parts in the Czech Republic . "Skoda Parts Centrum is an important part of the growth plans of the concern and the brand," says Werner Eichhorn, member of Skoda 's board of directors for sales and marketing. "Thanks to the significant expansion and modernization of the center, we can quickly, efficiently and competently meet the growing demand for spare parts and accessories," says Eichhorn.
Skoda Parts Centrum is one of the three European central warehouses of the Volkswagen concern. "By 2018, we will expand our range of parts and accessories by 50 percent to 214,000 items," says Roman Havlásek, head of the Skoda Original Parts and Accessories department.
As part of the modernization, the total area of the central warehouse was also doubled from 50,000 m 2 to more than 100,000 m 2 . This area roughly corresponds to the size of twelve football fields. The eleven aisles of the 42-meter-high rack warehouse can hold 30,000 pallets, and the process of storing and removing spare parts and accessories is fully automatic. An automatic shelf stacker works in every aisle. More than 200 pallets can be stored or removed in a single hour.
Deliveries of original parts and accessories are prepared and dispatched 24 hours a day . In three-shift operation, 500 employees process an average of 25,000 orders per day. Around 9,500 assortment items are delivered to more than 100 countries every day. In the country, the shipment is delivered by the morning of the following day, deliveries to other European countries are delivered within 24 hours at most.
