The production Peugeot RCZ R is no longer a secret, it was revealed before Goodwood

The Peugeot car company presented the RCZ R coupe concept at last year's Paris exhibition center, which can already be deduced from the name that it will be something more powerful and faster than the classic RCZ. Thanks to the positive feedback, Peugeot decided to send this model into series production.

And just today, initial information and photos were revealed of the new Peugeot RCZ R , which will make its public debut this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The sharper cockpit will offer a 10mm lower ground clearance, a large rear spoiler providing better downforce, a diffuser and, last but not least, a set of 19-inch alloy wheels that hide 380mm brake discs. Unfortunately, these days we can't avoid certain experiments, which means that the RCZ R will also have the sound of the engine in the speakers like the new Clio RS has, for example.

In the engine compartment, we find a turbocharged 1.6 -liter four-cylinder THP with an output of 270 hp at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 330 Nm from 1,900 rpm. With this power unit, the RCZ R accelerates to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Despite the greater number of horsepower, the Peugeot RCZ R has a "paper consumption" of 6.3 l/100 km and CO 2 emissions of 145 g/km. When comparing the RCZ model with the 200 hp THP engine, we come to the conclusion that the new RCZ R is 17 kg lighter (more precisely, it weighs 1280 kg). Power is transmitted to the front axle, where we also find a Torsen self-locking differential .

The cabin of the stylish coupe boasts seats that are "dressed" in black leather and alcantara with red stitching, which we also find on the door panels or the dashboard. In the " eRk ", we will also see a smaller steering wheel and an aluminum shifter head. The color palette offers a total of four different shades – black Nera, red Morrocan, white Opal and gray Mercury.

The Peugeot RCZ R will go on sale at the beginning of 2014 and, in addition to Goodwood, it will also be seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.
