Seat Leon Cupra 2014 – Spanish hot-hatch in detail!

The second-generation Seat Leon Cupra has been on the market since 2006, but it won't be there for long, as the first detailed information about the upcoming Spanish hot-hatchback has emerged. According to the British Autocar , it will arrive in early 2014 in up to three body styles.

The standard five-door model was revealed in a world premiere this year at the Paris Motor Show. Conversely, a three-door hatchback , badged SC , will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year. And the latest version of the ST (station wagon) will only be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. We will see all these forms in a sharp version of the Cupra only at the turn of 2013 and 2014.

Chief designer Alejandro Mesonero noted that the design of the new car is complete and described it as stunning. We should expect 18-inch alloy wheels, reduced ground clearance, a more aggressive body kit for all bodies or special accessories for the exterior and interior.

Under the hood, the new Leon Cupra will have a 2.0 -liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an output of 240 horsepower, which will be transmitted only to the front wheels. The current generation Leon Cupra R offers a 2.0 TSI with 261 horsepower. Although the new generation has less horsepower, it will be faster than its predecessor thanks to the weight reduction of the car.
