Seat Leon 2013 – New generation in sight

The Spanish car manufacturer Seat will present the new generation of its popular Leon model at the nearby Paris Motor Show.

The new generation of Leon will first be presented as a five-door hatchback, then in a short period of time the practical family version of the ST will be introduced, followed by the sporty three-door Leon SC . News from the automaker also says that the new Leon will eventually get "hot" versions of the FR and SE. The fact that the new Seat Leon will be the first car in its segment to be available for an additional fee is made up of LED headlights. Until now, this could only be seen in cars a few categories higher.

Leon for the 2013 model year will be offered with five engines, with their output ranging from 90 hp to 184 hp. The most powerful petrol engine is the 1.8 TSI with 180 hp. The most powerful diesel in the range, the 2.0 TDI CR, has an output of 184 hp.

Depending on the choice of engine, the Leon model will have the option of choosing a five- or six-speed manual transmission, or a DSG transmission with six or seven gears.

The new Leon will be built on a new chassis platform called MQB , which is also used by the new VW Golf VII , for example. Thanks to this, it was possible to reduce the weight of the new Leon compared to its previous generation by exactly 90 kilograms.

According to available information, an ecological version should also be available, with a consumption of 3.8 l per 100 km and CO 2 emissions, which should be only 99 g / km.
